Our Farmington meeting on Aug. 13 to prepare for the BLM’s coal-royalty listening session drew many active, thoughtful participants and led to an overwhelming pro-reform turnout at the BLM session a week later (see article here).
Because of the developments of the Animas River spill, we also discussed water quality in the Four Corners and how to prevent future disasters and the chronic contamination that happens constantly in the Animas but goes unnoticed.
People in the Four Corners are ready to fight for better health, clean air and clean water. We plan another meeting in the weeks ahead. Stay tuned for details, and if you live in the Four Corners area and are interested in joining our action team there, please contact camilla.feibelman@sierraclub.org.
