Spring 2024 Outings

Outings are normally free and open to non-members, although we do like it if you join the Club to increase our local and national clout.

All participants in Sierra Club activities are required to sign a standard Participation Agreement. If you would like to read the Participation Agreement before you choose to participate in an activity, please click here. You will be asked for consent when you register for each outing.

Events can be also found on our event calendar, and many on the Chapter Meetup site. The Santa Fe Group outings are listed on their Meetup site. Remember that outings may be added or changed as the season progresses.

Sign-up using the link below each listing. This link will take you to the calendar event listing with more information and registration.

Friday, June 7: Sierra Club and Beer-Wandering in the Clear Light of New Mexico. David Ryan (coauthor of the most recent edition of 60 Hikes) will be speaking at the about his new book Wandering in the Clear Light of New Mexico. Wandering in the Clear Light of New Mexico expands upon the themes of exploring and wandering found within the 60 Hikes book to include the entire state. The new book is about places that you can only find in New Mexico and that are compelling enough and important enough to warrant a drive across the country to check out. Our nation has only 25 UNESCO-designated World Heritage Sites. Three of them are in New Mexico – more than any other state. And when you add in the state’s amazing landforms, distinct sense of place, archaeological sites, and locations of historical and cultural significance, you have an amazing state for wandering and exploring. Wandering in the Clear Light of New Mexico is for those already living in the state, planning to visit the state, and for those who may have forgotten what makes New Mexico so special.
