On Tuesday, May 23, the Sierra Club will host a meet-and-greet with Karen Dunning and Joaquín Baca. Karen and Joaquín are candidates who have been endorsed by the Sierra Club in the June 6 election for the Middle Rio Grande Conservancy District Board of Directors.
The MRGCD plays an important role in the management of the bosque, so it is important that we have Board members like Karen and Joaquín who will act to protect the bosque. This is a terrific opportunity to meet Karen and Joaquín and talk to them about your concerns regarding the bosque and hear their views!
The event will be from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. at the Bow & Arrow Brewing Co, 608 McKnight Ave N.W., near Sixth Street, just south of I-40.
We’ll also give you all the details about absentee, early, and election day voting in the election. MRGCD elections are very different than other elections, including because you have to be a property owner in the valley to be eligible to vote. Details about voting can also be found here.
Please join us for a relaxing and informative evening with Karen Dunning and Joaquín Baca and meet these two terrific candidates. And PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE be sure to vote in this important election if you are an eligible voter to help protect the bosque!

How the heck do you find what district you’re in? If the MRGCD website has a map, it’s well hidden.
