This Earth Day, the Sierra Club Rio Grande Chapter helped New Mexicans transform their homes and businesses by connecting them with green technologies and incentives. The Sierra Club was a proud partner for the first-ever Earth Day Festival in Albuquerque, which brought thousands of New Mexicans to Balloon Fiesta park to learn about saving money while saving the Earth.

Our dedicated team of Energy Guides helped New Mexicans determine the home efficiency action they wanted to take, and then connected them with an expert or vendor to help them get the facts about the savings and benefits available to them.

HOW THE IRA IS HELPING NEW MEXICANS SAVE THE PLANET & SAVE $$$

In 2022, Congress signed President Joe Biden’s Inflation Reduction Act, which is bringing tens of millions of dollars to states like New Mexico to help people save money. New Mexico has one of the highest energy burdens in the country, but with the help of the IRA and other federal, state and utility  incentives, we can reduce our energy bills and help the planet while doing so. Thousands of New Mexicans are already taking advantage of the benefits provided by the federal and state government to electrify their homes.

Here are just some of the money and energy saving  incentives that New Mexicans have increased access to. It’s easier than ever to save money and help save the planet. The Sierra Club Rio Grande Chapter is committed to continued advocacy at both the state and federal levels for increased investment in these incentives, which will help us transition to a clean energy future faster.
