Always refreshing to visit the Rio Grande Nature Center State Park. We had the expertise of RGNC’s Instructional Coordinator Karen, as well as RGNC’s volunteer naturalist Sue. We spotted a porcupine napping perched on the top of a tree, a hawk flew over our heads, and saw a blue heron, cranes and other feathered friends. This Spanish-language outing was on Jan 27th.
On Feb 9th we enjoyed Piedras Marcadas Canyon, part of the Petroglyphs National Monument (photo at top of page). Excursiones had a great and varied group; enjoyed the good weather, found delight in spotting the carved designs on the basalt rocks created by ancestors of present-day native Americans (and some settlers many decades later), and had a good leisure walk.
The best part of these Excursiones is the conviviality experienced as we bask in the outdoors.
