Meet the ExComm – Tom Gorman

Tom’s story:

I was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan in 1939. After high school graduation, I attended Junior College for two years, and then decided to apply for Air Force pilot training. I went through the Aviation Cadet program and got my pilot wings in October 1960. I flew for most of the next 23 years, including a combat tour in Southeast Asia in 1971, flying recon, prior to retiring in 1982. I then worked in local and state government in emergency management until my final retirement in 2004.

I became involved in the Sierra Club as a volunteer in 2005, and have been active in public lands, wildlife, politics and legislative issues for the past 14 years.
