Eric Patterson was born 1943. He holds Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Chemistry. He’s been employed as a synthetic organic chemist, biochemistry technologist, and chemistry instructor at high school and community college levels. He currently is an organic gardener in downtown Valdez, N.M.
Eric has been a Sierra Club member since 1971, with the following distinctions:
- Chair of Northwest Suburban Cook County Group (about 1500 members) from 1999 to 2005
- Founder of Water Sentinels–Rios de Taos and coordinator 2006-2019
- Winner of National Sierra Club Special Service Award 2016
- Member of Executive Committee of Rio Grande Chapter of Sierra Club.
